Of Body and Steel (2024)
Multidisciplinary Installation
Mixed media
An assemblage of steel ducting, textiles, resin, and repurposed objects in this work explores identity, the body, and the social norms that shape who we are. Hundreds of cast resin eyeballs, associated with the body, speak to a multiple of ways we see and are seen.
The use of stark black-and-white chequered pattern contrasts with the softness of sweeping fabric and padded textile forms. The use of hard steel piping, construction fixings and mesh combine with the soft textile elements to create space for a conversation about life journey, inherited roles and personal transformation.
